Happenings in May!

Pollen is swirling on the pond, coating the car, chairs ...EVERYTHING (window screens will have to wait!) ... trees are totally "leafed out", beans & tomatoes are planted and flower blooms are popping open everyday ... Mosquitos are hatching and just recently the Dragonflies have arrived ... cheering on their hunger for mosquitos!!! If you look around and Emma can't be found ... check down at the dock, she's probably ankle wading to watch the Sun Fish swimming in the sun warmed water!!!

New England Golden Jubilee at Dog Mountain

A last minute decision to go ... early morning additions to the car for the 2 1/2 hour road trip to St Johnsbury Vermont for a sunny day adventure with Golden Retrievers ... all sorts of events!

Spring ... Think It's Really Here?

Blackflies have arrived in force, temps fluctuate daily and planting tender flowers is postponed day by day ... first grass mowing has happened and perennial flowers are poking thru the leaf-mulch ... the veggie gardens are prepped but "Yankee" saying is "don't plant till Memorial Day" ...  the male Hummingbird has arrived and Nectar in feeder is fresh ... tree leaves are popping open everywhere and their bud shells fall like snow, coating everything AND our Canada Geese babies have hatched (only 2 this year) and parents have brought them to the meadow to graze tender grass shoots ;o)
