Summer Doings ;o)

May's temps have been 30's to 90's with windy sunshine, extremely dry ground and NO rain ... the Dragonflies have arrived and so have the mosquitos ... get eating guys!!! The pond has a daily visit from an Otter who joins the Blue Heron to feed on small Hornpout, our seasonal pair of Canada geese have hatched 5 goslings, and 4-6 male Wood Ducks have been "cruising" during the day (female must be nesting)!

Emma is consumed with her new hobby of "fish watching"... she stands on the rocks in the shallow water just off the dock and stares intently for hours at the small Sunfish trying to scoop out areas for their egg nests ... the fish amazingly even swim between Emma's feet

Going in for the catch (but never catches one!)

Sad Loss of a Special Grand Dam :-(

Our Willow lost her Grandmother and our Mya lost her Great Grandmother suddenly today (5-14-15) at 12+ years old ... we all feel the deep loss of sweet and gentle Emmie ... she's now happily romping over the Rainbow Bridge with all those family Goldens that have gone on before her and who were right there to meet her ..  she will be deeply missed but she lives on in all her awesome offspring ;o)
Wish the Rainbow Bridge had visiting hours!

Emmie, & her son Apollo

Sweet Puppy Fix ;o)

Lyric's full sister and Emma's half sister "Sorbet" had her last litter of puppies on 5-4-15 by C-Section (6 girls & 2 boys) ... everyone from Golden Embers was at the Vet's office for the blessed event  ... the litter is titled the "Fiesta" litter and we will certainly follow them as they grow ... and for those wondering, NO there is NO plan for a new pup at Golden Embers (yet) ... Sutter, Willow, Emma and Mya say so!!!
